The Stunning County of Northumberland

The Red Barn is situated in the heart of Northumberland and is the ideal base for exploring this fabulous county.

10 minutes drive to the west is Cragside Gardens & Estate now owned by the National Trust, while the spectacular coastline is just 15 minutes drive away.

The Northmberland National Park is also close by and as well as beautiful scenery offers a range of walks, from a 3 mile stroll to a trek up the Cheviot.

There are may choices in Northumberland. Due to its proximity to the England-Scotland border, there's many a castle or battle site to visit, not to mention the ultimate border of Hadrian's Wall - a World Heritage Site. There's also award-winning beaches like Bamburgh, Dunstanburgh and Alnmouth.
